MCON Onam and Teachers’ Day Celebrations

On September 5th, 2018 at TMA Pai Hall, Manipal College of Nursing celebrated their Teachers’ Day and Onam with zest and enthusiasm. The day kicked off with a beautiful floral decoration, in the beginning, followed by the lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. The Associate Dean, Dr. Judith Noronha, shared some words of wisdom which moved the audience.

A video montage showing the light-hearted side of the faculty was shown which evoked fits of giggles and laughter from the crowd. Various recreational games were organised for the teachers by the students who were cheering them. The Associate Dean along with the faculty thoroughly enjoyed their day. After the conclusion of the games, the Onam celebrations began, starting with commemorating the families and colleagues of the floods which recently struck Kerala. This was followed by a traditional Malayalee dance, Thiruvathira.

The Onam song was sung and a traditional game called Malayalee manka and Kerala sreeman, which translates to the best girl and guy were played. The boys of MCON put up a performance which was captivating and entertaining. The events of the day concluded with a vote of thanks and a game of tug of war, which was a perfect end to a perfect day.
