Qalam 2020: Mightier Than The Sword

Qalam, in Arabic, means ‘pen’ and hence the name of the event, Qalam: Mightier Than The Sword. It is a intercollegiate literary fest hosted by the Editorial Council of Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Qalam was the brain child of former editors, Anushna and Ashutosh. At that time, MCOPS only had cultural events, and they wanted to have a literary fest so students would be able to explore the power of literature. And thus Qalam was born. It was a long and tiring journey, marred with a lot of obstacles, but nonetheless, they made it a huge success.

This year is the third edition of Qalam and it is only getting bigger and better. The events include Spell Bee, Story Writing, Presidential Debate, Slam Poetry and Storybook Quiz.

Slam Poetry is the event for you if you have been waiting for a platform to showcase your hidden poetic side. Story Writing makes room for your imagination to run wild with its clever prompts, while Spell Bee challenges your memory and linguistic intuition. The Presidential Debate is no ordinary debate. The topics are always current, pressing issues which will help multiply your knowledge and broaden your perspectives on relevant topics. If you love debates, this is your time to shine!

Qalam starts on 22nd January 5pm onwards. Book your tickets today!
