Absurd – Day Twenty Four Of NaPoWriMo

surreal, bizarre, illogical
are some of the words used
to describe the brave and
adventurous

“how did he get that from ‘that’?“
or “does she think she can pull that off ?”
are questions that plague creative spheres
like locusts swarming over a paddy field

and amidst this bellowing of
empty vessels and cacophony
the little artists at play in our head
mellow down to join the norm

paintbrushes paint the sky blue and white
while the oranges and pinks sit lifeless and wonder why
they can’t be a part of the sky they rightfully belong too

this six letter, two syllable
chain of letters
hold down each nonconformist
each beacon for the future

but remember fellow wallflowers
and creators of the new-age
not all great ideas came from
old-grandmother recipes and factory machines

pick up that pen, or
that idly sitting video camera
the only thing really absurd
is not trying.
