Cycling Through A Storm — Day Four of NaPoWriMo 2023

Myriads of destinations to arrive at,
A plethora of time-bound duties to discharge.
We feel engulfed by entropy
As we pedal through the ceaselessness of student life,
Eyes set on a goal,
Scenic side roads to divert the gaze,
Yet striving to maintain balance
So the tires of the cycle
Spin on tirelessly.
To add adventure and uncertainty to the ride,
A typhoon of procrastination blows over,
Destabilising the wheels,
Disabling the brakes,
Making the destination
One mile farther away.
Yet,
We are driven by forces so strong,
Strong enough to overcome the force of any thunderstorm:
Forces of dreams, ambition, and determination.
We cycle against a storm from within,
On an already obstacle-laden road,
Powered by a magical pull,
Also emerging from within,
To turn visions of glory
Into tomorrow’s reality.
